Florida Masters Making A Differance - Tampa Twilight Criterium

Florida Masters is represented at the Tampa Crit
Yesterday was a very special day in the Tampa Bay area because it was time for the Third Annual Tampa Twilight Criterium held right in the heart of the city. This race was my first experience into racing three years ago so for me it’s a special time and it means a lot to me as a bicyclist and a racer. Not only was this the place where I watched my first live bicycle race, it was also where I met Keri Burns of WAM Events three years ago.

Over time, I have gotten to know Keri and have found her to be one of the most wonderful and charming people I have ever met and after reading something on Facebook about she had some form of Cancer, I took it upon myself to use some of the internet skills I had to create a blog site similar to ours to help her raise funds for her treatment. I decided to use this event to roll out the tent and introduce the Tampa Crit to the Florida Masters and to Team Keri.



I had the privilege to meet our very own Cliff Jackson and watched him win his 65+ category, he took first place.

I also had the opportunity to race in my sixth race as a Cat 5 rider and took 32nd in a field of 55 riders and was very pleased with my results as a personal best.

Overall it was a great day and next week, I'll get to try my hand at my first ever Time Trial at the Florida Goodlife Games in Ft. Desoto. Hope to meet some more of the Masters at the events.
